To tell you the truth, the only version of the alum I own is the RVG,
which sounds fine on my system.  While I'd love to have 100 versions of
John Coltrane doing "Blue Trane", I'm not one to run out and buy
multiple reissues of albums.  I love the music first, and while the
audiophilia can be fun to pursue, it seldom gets in the way of the
music for me.

I have heard similar comments about many of the RVG remasters, while at
the same time I've heard many of them are said to be excellent.  I only
own a few, all of which I find outstanding.  There was an earlier 1997
remaster from Blue Note, the "Ultimate Blue Train", which you might
prefer.  A quick google found this conversation comparing the two
