While I'd love to have 100 versions of John Coltrane doing "Blue Trane", I'm not one to run out and buy multiple reissues of albums. I love the music first, and while the audiophilia can be fun to pursue, it seldom gets in the way of the music for me.
I have heard similar comments about many of the RVG remasters, while at the same time I've heard many of them are said to be excellent. I only own a few, all of which I find outstanding. There was an earlier 1997 remaster from Blue Note, the "Ultimate Blue Train", which you might prefer.
