Be sure that J. River is writing changes back to the tags in the actual music files.
In the Tools/Library Tools/ menu, execute update tags from library to write any changes back to the file for the files you have selected. and read the section titled "Sync the database and tags" in the Media center 11 help. Media Center 11 allows you to defien the fields in your libray database. Those fields may be associated with a tag in the music files or not. So check your field definitions (Tools/Options/Library dialog) to be sure that the fields you want to represent tag values actually do. Slect a field sin the list and click on edit to see if "store in file tags if possible" is checked.
