... because I'm such a musical gourmand that my Zen is always stuffed
to the gills, and I can get 1/3 more music on it if I use WMA rather
than mp3! (I'm sure a bigger Zen would just take slightly longer to
fill up, too...)

The idea is not to keep the WMA files on the hard drive, since I can
always regenerate from FLAC if needs be (so long as the generation can
be batched reasonably). So it wouldn't be any more work to switch to a
different format later.

(Of course, it's far from that simple. For historical reasons, a lot of
my DB is still only in fairly low-rate WMA, which makes for all sorts of
pain, not least because WMA and ReplayGain don't go together. I wonder
if I could transcode the WMAs to something more flexible, but without
further lossiness? I've already discovered the hard way that
transcoding WMA from 160k to 96k is more lossy than ripping straight to
96k...)
