It takes a few tries to get the setup all OK, but once you have EAC and FLAC configured, it is just two buttons (F4 for detect gaps, Shift-F5 for rip and encode). The next stage, of course, is tagging. I always need to retag (I use the excellent MP3Tag), as most of my stuff is classical and CDDB classical tags are good for little except comedy value. Therefore, I rip into a folder called "To Tag", and move them into "Tagged" when they are, uh, tagged. I am currently considering using MP3Tag to rename all my files, but am skeptically convinced that it will break everything! And finally, of course, there is the multiple tag issue - the joy of the SB! Being able to have multiple artists and genres on classical is just so useful. For pop too - you can tag a genre as Pop;New Age;Ambient;Instrumental and it suddenly becomes possible to browse by mood. And it enables you to plan all sorts of expensive therapy once you realise how nice it is to have things 'just so'... :) -- adamslim SB3 and Shanling CDT-100, Rotel RT-990BX, Esoteric Audio Research 859, Living Voice Auditorium IIs, Nordost cables ------------------------------------------------------------------------ adamslim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28763 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
