You've made a mistake. EAC will fix problems of varying audibility. It will fix disks that you cannot visually tell are even scratched.
I believe this is too strong. Some of the problems that EAC fixes are audible, some not.
I use the same approach as suggested by OP, (cmpatti). I use faster tools as a first pass, and EAC only when I notice problems. If I don't notice it, the tree is not falling in the forest.
It is likely that my next computer will have a faster CD/DVD drive, and perhaps EAC won't be 'too slow' for my use, but for now it is. And I'm moving away from Windows as a daily workstation platform, so EAC is becoming smaller in my usage pattern.
All IMHO, YMMV, etc. -- Pat http://www.pfarrell.com/music/slimserver/slimsoftware.html _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
