Upon further examination it seems that ARTISTSORT is being written. In ALBUM view, the albums tagged with ARTISTSORT "Blakey, Art", are indeed listed under BLA. In ARTIST view "Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers", and "Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers" are indeed listed as two separate artists.
What I would like is for the ARTIST view to show "Blakey, Art" as a single artist, with album names listed as: "Caravan" by Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers "Art Blakey & Thelonious Monk" by Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers w/Thelonious Monk etc...
