If someone just needs a very fast, searchable DB of their library, try "Cathy". I've used it for years and have found nothing better for these tasks. It's also perfect for cataloging CD-R and DVD-R discs full of files. Do a search on any part of a filename and in 1 second you can see what disc(s) or drive(s) contain the file(s).
