I am new. i have ripped 65 cds with EAC. I also haven't finished reading this thread but want to share my experience. I have been wanting pcaudio for sometime and am so glad that technology caught up with my desire.
I chose EAC because the "audiophiles" said so. I am not compressing at all with the cost of mass storage coming down like it is. It seems like wasted processing to me. The uncompressed discs are averaging just over half a gig. Now the problem. On a few cds a track that must have a problem (though it would play fine on a cd player) would just bog down my relatively old computer. It would just freeze up and lock the drive. One day, in frustration, I unplugged the power to the drive hot and plugged it back in hot. I knew better and now I am nursing the old machine until the new one arrives. I don't know if I will even load EAC on my new computer. I appreciate all of the choices listed on these few pages and I appreciate the forums. Several threads have been very helpful as have several individuals. BTW I find EAC kinda cumbersome too. -- dancemanster ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dancemanster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13530 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39485 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
