I am not being "The opinion comes in when you ask "is being pedantically absolutely correct important?"" It was simply a question, I am not a pedant. There are a number of programs around and I was simply wondering which is the best. If you say it is down to your ears then fine. Yes a check sum could be carried out and I am surpised that there is no information about it all. Bit retrieval is important, that is obvious, hence a check sum as you suggest maybe illuminating who knows. I like the EasyCD program but others go on about EAC DbAmp etc hence my question(s).
