What OS are you running - Windows, Mac or Linux?

If you're not comfortable running a script, Foobar is a good choice.
Detailed instructions on how to apply Replay Gain using Foobar are here
- the wiki is generally a good source of info on anything you are unsure
about:

I use another program called mp3Gain which is also very simple to use:

http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

The trick is NOT to normalise your files which changes the sound levels
for ever, but to apply replay gain which tells Slimserver and other
similar products to adjust the sound when playing by a certain amount.
