I've finally encountered a CD that I simply cannot rip no matter what I try. It was manufactured in Greece and EMI are the distributors. The CD plays fine in my car stereo and in my DVD player, no glitches, no read errors, nothing. Looking at the CD, there are no obvious signs of damage.
Tracks 1 - 6 rip without issue, tracks 7 through 19 refuse to rip. I've tried EAC in secure and burst rip mode with the same outcome - the drive gets slowed to a crawl and sync errors appear as soon as track 7 is started. I've also tried ripping only track 8 etc. - same outcome. Other software I've tried to copy the CD with (so I can rip it from a CD image loaded in memory) include Blindwrite 6 and CloneCD. I've tried ripping using my Samsung Writemaster DVDRW and two Plextor drives (Plexwriter 8/20 and a PX-708UF), same outcomes again. Both Blindwrite and CloneCD also slow to a crawl after reading what I presume is the first 6 tracks of the CD. Blindwrite's diagnostic messages include "Can't find a method to read subcodes in AUDIO track" The strangest part of all is that the CD is the second disc in a pair and the the first disc rips without issue. As it's an EMI disc I'm inclined to think it is "copy protected", however, if this was the case, then what of disc 1... Any ideas what else I can try to rip the disc? -- egd Thecus N5200PRO >> Transporter >> ATC SCA2 >> ATC SCM100SLAT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ egd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3425 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41920 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
