1. I take it you are using a PC not a MAC (if this is wrong ignore everythingelse!) 2. dBPoweramp with the ALAC plugin will convert FLAC to ALAC and it seems to keep tags correct although I don't use cue sheets so don't know if it will work with them alone. I have tagged all my FLAC files with mp3tag and dBpoweramp can convert these to ALAC keeping the tags, I shall assume that it is still lossless (file sizes are similar) 3. Personally I would stick with FLAC and use MediaMonkey or similar to organise music as it can convert to your ipod (or other portable player) on the fly. 4. Itunes does not store cover art in the standard folder.jpg within the folder format it stores it in it's own way, one of the reasons I ditched itunes. 5. Itunes cannot play ALAC files gapless 6. Playing ALAC files on your ipod will drain the battery life significantly faster than playing MP3s and will you be able to hear the difference?
