You're right, I picked a bad example. I guess I meant "typical consumer
device which does understand FLAC" - Sonos would probably have been a
better example. They support FLAC but I don't believe they do
cuesheets. Of course, we're not limited to FLAC as I believe Vorbis
(and possibly other) formats also support cuesheets - but again I
imagine on a small subset of Vorbis compatible players. 

Anyway, I'm not trying to criticize your choice of format - honestly -
just explaining my reasoning for picking a different one.
