I've spent the morning researching this, downloading potential solutions
and coming up empty. I am ripping vinyl, and the software I am using
allows you to "guesstimate" the appropriate gain, and has a small
wizard to help you (have no idea shat dB level it sets). Anyway, I rip
to WAV then input to iTunes add tags and convert to Apple Lossless.
Problem is that some of my albums have been recorded a too low a level,
and I would like to normalize them. Problem is that I can't find a
normalization program that works with Apple Lossless. I thought I had
the perfect solution with iGain, but it won't do lossless. What I
really want is some sort of album normalization.
