My guess is that your friend is confusing some terms here. The Pioneer Elite CD player would definitely reproduce music much better than a standard PC CD player, *but only when is playing music*.
But the term 'rip' will just copy the data from the CD into your PC, so a standard PC CD-ROM player will do the job just fine, and like some here have pointed out, it would need some complex mechanism to use the Pioneer Elite CD to 'rip' the data to the PC. -- pichonCalavera *rip* (eac) > *convert* (flac) > *tag* (musicbrainz) > *normalize* (replaygain/foobar2000) > *albumart* (winamp) > *transport* (winscp) > *store* (debian) >*rescan* (slimserver) > *play* (squeezebox) > *hear* (sennheiser) > *scrooble* (last.fm) > *enjoy* (me :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pichonCalavera's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13068 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43665 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
