This would be of concern to me. If your machinie is hard booting, it's
very possible that the drive (or whatever is faulty) is actually
damaging the PC.
I'd scoop up and install a new DVD drive ASAP, and see if it fixes it.
If it doesn't, well you're problems are just beginning.
Oh, and always make sure you have good, recent backups of your data.
Preferably store them off-site (in case of fire/earthquake/Godzilla),
or at least in another part of the house (away from burglars eyes).
