They're both equal for use with SC!  Both need transcoding for use on
SqueezeBoxen, but how much load the WMA vs ALAC transcoding puts on
your processor I don't know.

I transcode ALAC to wav, which just runs a process called ALAC and
takes, basically, neglible system resources.  Of course, if you're
running on a low powered machine you may want to try both and see which
uses the least resources?  But TBH I doubt you'd notice at all on most
machines.

I used WMA a long time ago, and I found tagging it to be harder work
than ALAC - but that was years ago, and before I found mp3tag!
