That's kind of what I expect as well.  I hope we're wrong.

define a schema on top of the base schema, as well as some means of
defining a hierarchy for your schema for browsing in the various
interfaces.  There will be one schema defined that mimics the current
behavior.  Maybe they'll also throw in one that is suited to handling
classical music better.  After that, you define your own schemas as you
like.

It sounds extremely flexible, but it also sounds like some simple
capabilities could be lost.  For instance, how would you be able to say
'group multi-disc albums'?  You're going to still need special
interpretations and behaviors hard coded in the server logic for
certain recognizable tags.  In that regard, I expect many of the same
problems regarding how tags are interpreted and used by the server to
continue.
