I to am a big fan of a single tagging system as Moonbase suggested. But
I also keep two separate libraries, one for FLAC and one for 320Kbps
MP3s. FLAC for my Squeezebox Players and Transporter and MP3 for my
iPhone.

or tags showing up, first check the tags, then run a Clear & ReScan.
That has always fixed all but one problem I caused myself when I
installed a new drive and changed the drive letter by mistake. SC found
all my music on the second scan but that hosed all my playlists and I
had some huge ones.
