Hm one thing comes to mind: SC (even on Windows) likes to save .m3u playlists with UTF-8 encoding and a BOM (called »signature« in some editors). So -maybe, just maybe- you a)*have many files with extended characters in the filename, and b) edited those using an editor that doesnt support (or detect) UTF-8?
I still think this is somehow -bad-. M3U playlists dont have a »real spec« (they were an ad-hoc invention by Nullsoft in times long gone) but are -usually assumed- containing only ISO-8859-1 characters. SC (and some others) blindly write UTF-8 data into these, while »the public« has more or less agreed upon using ».m3u8« files for UTF-8 encoded playlists. Nevertheless, if youre on Windows, -grepWin- can handle both encodings, and you might verify using a nifty little editor like Florians 'Notepad2' (http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html). -- Moonbase Moonbase: 'The Problem Solver' (http://www.kaufen-ist-toll.de/moonbase) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Moonbase's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21594 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60272
