I have a more basic question re Accurate ripping, if I may, please.

Is there something fundamentally different about Redbook audio CD than a
data CD, e.g. ISO9660?

I've been dealing with the latter since they were introduced, and I
don't ever recall being concerned about errors when getting the data
from CD. Yet data bit errors are often much more serious, perhaps even
catastrophic, than audio bit errors.

Equally, people have been using CD for years, for backup & archival
purposes. Should they be wondering whether they will get their data back
intact, if they're not reading it back using a "secure" or "accurate"
methodology?

What am I missing?

cheers,
c.
