i did complain about that, b/c it does make assumptions that aren't true. basically, if you have ANY artist mismatch, it'll call that a comp. the fact is that isn't always true, a CD isn't a comp just b/c of a single artist mismatch, but SC says it is. (if i have a willie nelson CD where all tracks are TPE1=Willie Nelson except one with is TPE1=Willie Nelson feat. Johnny Cash that should NOT be called a comp, b/c it ISN'T a comp) the only way around that identification, is via more tags. i would prefer being able to simply turn the detection off. I don't > agree with his solution, but I think the existing situation in non-ideal > and could use work. gee, i actually got something right! i'm all warm and fuzzy... yep, this is a separate complaint. it is ridiculous that SC will only assign ONE AREA for all things it identifies as comps. that would be HUNDREDS of CDs for me, and i mean CDs that are actually comps in the real world. the other complaint is that at times, it is good for SC to know something is a comp for otehr reasons, like 3rd party stuff. i don't know if i proposed a "big solution" to any of this, but one thing comes to mind... if i can map TPE2 to ALBUMARTIST in the SC DB, then if SC supports sort tags, give me the option to simultaneously map TPE2 to the sort field entries in the SC DB as well. then i could assign Comp=1 tags, and i think do so without drawback.
