Do you have the free or the gold version...  It appears that the
transcoding is a gold feature.

It sounds like Media Monkey might be ideal for a mixed library of MP3s,
AACs, FLACs and Apple Lossless files...  Simply have one main directory
"My Music" with the highest quality source files you have, and point the
SqueezeBox at this directory for the highest quality sound...  And when
you want to take your music on the go, configure it to downconvert to
128kbps AAC or MP3 on the fly if you want to maximize on-the-go
capacity...  Am I right?
