I was trying to set the scene by describing compilation cases, i.e. shouldn't need to do anything because albums with varying artists are considered compilations (no need for album artist or compilation tag - it just works). Then I meant to say that for cases where there are guest appearances, there's no need to set compilation=0 (which would not be correct on its own). Just set an album artist tag for each song, and therefore the album will automatically not be a compilation. i.e. compilation tags should not be necessary in most cases. >The other way is to add an ALBUMARTIST tag, but >historically SqueezeCenter hasn't always sorted this out correctly. I think it has always worked fine (appart from the TPE2 mis-use issue, which is now available as a setting to make it behave as Album Artist instead of Band). >So it doesn't hurt to make it as explicit as possible so that some future >programming change (or bug) is less likely to disrupt how your library >is viewed. It does hurt if compilation=0 is set and no album artist is set for guest artist albums. There is no album artist to group the songs together, so doesn't this cause multiple albums (one per artist)? _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
