I know very little about this but I understand if you would want to write a perfect copy of the CD one of the things you'd need is the CUE sheet. I understand that this tells it exactly where the tracks are split and how gaps are handled. When you rip these gaps are often added to the end of the previous track, but on the CD this may be handled differently.
I understand you can still get a working copy of the CD from flac but it won't look *exactly* the same (I think in the way tracks are split) due to the way the gaps are handled. It would sound the same though. I recently started ripping to flac and have about 20 -30 cds ripped as flac now. I didn't keep/save cue sheets. Thinking about redoing them with CUE to get this, but it seems to be a bit of a mission. You can save it in the folder but tell squeezecentre to ignore them by excluding the file extension CUE. If you keep one flac file per CD though you need the cue.
