Hello.

I'm about to rip my entire CD collection (~ 1000 discs), mainly
classical music. I'm getting headaches choosing a ripper and a way of
handling properly and efficiently tags. But I wonder how to organize
music on my hard drive ?

When I used to rip a CD, a folder was created. Sometimes it was named
according to the performer, sometimes to the composer, sometimes to...

Well, would it be a good idea to create one directory per composer, and
put into it each file, named with an UUID (not a real name !), and let
each album be "reassembled" by a playlist ?

This way I suppose my SqueezeBox will be able to play a specific album
(playlist), and I could easily choose to hear a specific piece of, say,
JS Bach, outside any album - thanks to tags.

Am I wrong ? Regards,

Al
