What I had wanted was for the "John Lennon (Tribute)" to be listed as well as the individual artists for each track. I did have the option "list compilation albums under each artist" option, but since the example album was not listed as a compilation, only the album artist was shown. As a result I found that setting the compilation tag for that album listed all the track artists as well as the album artist (as I wanted) while still showing the album under Various Artists... I actually find that ideal and may take advantage of that in the future. I've always kind of hated having my compilations with an Album Artist of "Various Artists" generically, but needed the Album Artist to keep my Zune and other devices happy. I like the fact that I can now have a more specific Album Artist for my compilation (i.e. I could use "Soundtrack" for soundtracks) but still be able to browse the album under Various Artists in a more encompassing way. Phil, I also appreciate a lot of your information with respect to these topics elsewhere in the forums. The only thing I don't like at the moment, but I can live with is that for albums with a guest artist or two, I don't want to set a compilation tag, but if I don't set the tag, the guest artist won't show up in my artist list (unless they are already there from their own album). This isn't a huge deal though as I am finding the search function works well, and I will ultimately simplify my artist browsing by grouping the compilations.
