Another moral of the story is to do secure rips, so that you can spot the problems before you even listen to the tracks. AccurateRip (available on EAC and dBpoweramp, and perhaps others) is extremely valuable, along with secure ripping (ie, two passes and compare) if the rip doesn't match the AccurateRip database.
