Actually, I think I figuerd out why there is this strange mixup (switching several times withing the same track between hdcd and normal stereo mode) with the tracks from that album: that CD has a copy protection. Every other CD I ripped so far has no protection.
This is stupid. Even more, because in the note to the copy protection is says, that only macs cannot play/read that cd. If I rip that CD to Ogg I cannot hear any (major) failiures in quality. I guess, the above mentioned Foobar or DBPoweramp would help me get a working version of a album in flac.
