I use dBpoweramp (secure mode) to rip CDs and like most people, I get the occasional inaccurate rip on one or two tracks. Quite often, the problem is not solved by subsequent attempts and I just leave it as inaccurate. One is then left with the feeling that this track is tainted in some way and will not sound as good as it should. However, should I get bothered by the odd inaccurate rip? Playing music with ripping errors, I have yet to hear anything that sounds different from an accurate rip. No clicks, or pops, or any other degradation in quality (and I have a very transparent system). So my question is, how is the sound quality affected if the rip is inaccurate? What degradations should I expect to hear? I used to work on a problematic CD for some time until the rip was accurate, but now I think its a lot of effort for little (if any) improvement. Anybody have any views on this?
