puddletag addressed a specific need, which was to create a great tagger
for the Linux community. Windows users have mp3tag. The next major
developments for puddletag will likely focus on a being able to have to
do all sorts from the command line, meaning it could be incorporated
into scripts/ batch files used to process audio files. If I find time
over the next week or so I'll get a copy of XP up and see if I can get
puddletag up. If it works, I'll post about it here.

we can read ID3v2.3, puddletag won't write anything but ID3v2.4.
puddletag relies on the Python Mutagen library to read/ write tags.

At the end of the day, the goal was to develop a really great tag
editor that handles all the day to day tagging tasks exceptionally
well. We think we're almost there. puddletag is capable of being
extended to do many other things not currently within the core program,
but having that kind of functionality is going to depend on
contributions from the community. Day jobs need attention too :P
