Thanks to all for their advice. I will uninstall EAC and try again. It was nice on my old XP machine to be able to rip and compress to FLAC in one opn. I have a large number of CDs to rip and convert to FLAC. I have gotten other software to do the encoding but its another opn which I would like to avoid. The instns I used to install EAC were from the Squeezebox wiki. Perhaps I did something wrong. Though it appears Windows 7 may be an issue here. I can click add files in FLAC and add them from a folder but they do not convert. That is where I get the momentary flash of what I believe to be the encoding process screen I saw using XP.
