Hi again. Yes I've concluded I will go with the FLAC's - tried them on the best system in the house and very impressive!
My library at the moment has mainly mp3's, some WMA, and a few FLAC's. Will gradually build up the FLAC's. Squeezebox server will play all of these files on any of the receivers and the squeeze radio. However, Squeezeplayer will only ply the FLAC's. MP3 and WMA's just give a 'cannot play this filetype' error. NB my WMA and mp3 were ripped at 192kps - maybe that?? Strange that SBS and Squeezeplayer work differently and object to the files?? It's no big deal I guess as I will replace them all with FLAC eventually but it would be good to understand what is happening....
