Are you sure that 1 you did choose FLAC and 2 that you actually downloaded the files themselves? I have a few albums from HD Tracks and they DON'T have that weird extension. You need to use their downloader, so make sure you install that and that the files do download. First thing I would do is check on you order history and make sure what you did purchase and maybe try downloading them again. Just sounds like something weird happend at some point.
