afaik, ANY audio editor will transcode to wav first, even just to
visualize the file.  however, a flac to wav to flac conversion, even
after edits or channel reverses would still be lossless.

obviously, the same is not true with mp3.

EDIT: also, audacity supports flac imports/exports, i forget if its
native or not but if not, it isn't hard to get it done.  same with mp3.
