No matter how right you are, right now you sound like the fanatic.

Personally, as I stated in earlier posts, I've never heard the
difference in what is apparently wrong in my way of dealing with replay
gain. I have albums in there where multi-disc sets have 2+ values of
album gain (i.e. album gain for each disc), but as I now know that
hasn't done me any good.

Never-the-less, I've never heard anything wrong with it either. I can
hear the difference between MP3's and FLAC files, but I've never heard
problems with "wrong" album gains.

I agree with using as few tags as possible and keeping things simple,
but for me simple is keeping the album numbers down as well. Album RG
is important to me, and my lack of knowledge led me to using one Album
RG per multi-disc set whether I wanted it to or not, and frankly, I
haven't heard any problems with what I've done "wrong", and ultimately
that is what matters most.

Most of my multi-disc sets are concerts, and it does seem I would have
noticed these problems if they were so wrong. In a few cases where I
looked closely, I usually see Album Gain values that are within +/-1
from disc to disc. That's not going to be enough for people to notice.
There are exceptions as was pointed out with the Wall, and I'll have to
evaluate what to do in cases like that. I've never noticed any problems
with my listening of that album anyway.
