No, Bitrate limiting is not enabled, out of curiosity I enabled it and the 48/24 files played but that is to be expected.
I've attached a log, first I played part of a John Mellencamp song, that is 96/24 and played ok. Next I played a Peter Gabriel track in 48/24 and that just played as noise.
