I think there is an important thing with regard to mixing tag types and
identification of multiple tag types:  Mp3tag and probably Puddletag
are only going to show the multiple tag types if the tags are present
correctly (i.e. not corrupted).

If the tags are corrupted, the tagger may not show those specific tags
and it may not be able to remove them either.  I think this is where
the cut and paste option works.  Cutting removes all tags and starts
you off with a clean header and metadata.

Of course, we won't know that is your problem, but it seems likely
given Audiomuze's suggestion and the fact that his process is working. 


That being said, it is probably more important to track the cause of
your problem.  I'd especially focus on new rips.  Running Linux and
being removed from your EAC workflow, I wouldn't worry about how your
EAC files got to where they are at.  I would, however, try to find out
what is going on now to get the behavior you see.
