I'm currently using artistsort for all cases where there is an artist's "firstname lastname" used as the band name to get that filed under "lastname, firstname". Just as the record shops did in the good ol' days. ;-) Having said that, I must admit that it gets the more annoying the bigger the library gets. Especially when you are browsing by artist and are scrolling down the screen, it's really hard to follow at which position in the alphabet you are: sometimes the current letter is at the beginning, sometimes it is somewhere in the middle. I guess one day I'll drop this ordering scheme and throw away all artistsort tags in my library. Thanks to mp3tag this will be a single command. Maybe I woud then rather rename my current artistsort tags to something unused, in case I change my mind back again. :-) Because even if mp3tag allows quite sophisticated rules for renaming stuff, I really doubt that it can make the right decisions to create proper artistsort tags.
