I'd be amazed if anyone's following this thread if I'm honest. Short
answer: Everything! But the current discussion is about backing up
/dev/mmcblk0 on my main pCP server, a Pi 3B+. I'm pretty much settled
on using ...

Code:
--------------------
    dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=512 count=2170880 | gzip >
/mnt/Music/DiskImages/pCPLounge.img.gz
--------------------

... to make a backup image on the attached hard disk containing my music
library. This will run at 2am every morning.

I then have another pCP (a Pi Zero W) which runs Jivelite and
Squeezelite over HDMI to my TV, but which also runs a backup script at
3am every morning. That script started out just backing up my music
library and updating a compressed copy, but it will also now rsync the
image created by the 3B+ to a backup disk connected to the Zero. So
I'll have two separate copies of the /dev/mmcblk0 image, and should be
able to get up and running again quickly in the case of a disaster. I
do now have a 'shutdown' button connected to GPIO3, so I'm hoping that
there's very little chance of the SD card becoming corrupted, but I
guess a power cut could do it. My backup script even calls 'pcp bu'
just in case I've forgotten to do that manually after making some
crucial change. And it also backs up /dev/mmcblk0 on the Zero's SD
card. I've never felt so secure!
