That's only the case if the sd card hasn't held any data in that "empty
space" previously, as deleting files/partitions/etc doesn't physically
set the card's memory to zero - you'd have to explicitly do so (dd
if=/dev/zero ...)
One of the advantages of fsarchiver is that it will only image the used
data of a partition, avoiding this issue.
