Hi everyone

We're currently using Rivendell for pretty much all of the playout on
our 28-day RSL here in the UK (except the odd presenter that still
prefers CDs, of course!). This is the third RSL that we've used
Rivendell now, and it's been absolutely fantastic, hasn't missed a beat.

However just recently, it has started, very occasionally and randomly,
skipping one cart completely.

Amongst all the music and other carts, we have one cart that contains
all of our ad breaks - there's about 30 cuts within that cart and one
gets played randomly every time the cart is chosen, so presenters don't
need to worry about scheduling the breaks themselves, they always know
where to get the ad break from. We have done all of the weighting
'within the cuts' - i.e. multiple versions of the same break on
different cuts, we have not used the Rivendell
dayparting/weighting/day/date settings on individual cuts (yet).

In a log, we'll have a music cart, followed by this ad break cart,
followed by a jingle, followed by another song (or whatever). Very
occasionally we find that the ad break cart is missed altogether. When
it plays through the list, there are no gaps or clunks whatsoever- it's
just as if the ad break cart has been removed from the list. However
when it's there waiting to be played, it shows as available - no 'No
Audio Available' messages or red boxes to indicate the dayparting will
disallow the cart...it just disappears.

Where might be the best place to start investigating? Is there a logfile
of every cart played? An error log? Apologies for the ignorance, but I'm
pleased to say I've not had to do any Rivendell fault diagnosis so far!

Currently Rivendell 1.7.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 (RRABuntu 1.13)

Thanks in anticipation,
