The Centos appliance will wipe the HD clean to do the install, suspect this will include the Toshiba reinstall partitions as well so you won't be able to use the boot menu to restore it if you don't have oem disks to do it and you decide you don't want linux on the laptop.

Is OS 64 bit and RD not 64 bit ???

found I could change web pages on 11.04 browsers and go for java cup refill before pages would change; don't know what they did in that release; major bloat slowdown whatever it was.

Any more than that can't suggest much Jorge; my satellite has hidden restore parts and haven't found a decent priced replacement HD carrier and spare drive to experiment with linux yet.

cheers
Andy

Trying to install Rivendell on a toshiba satellite L305D laptop AMD Turion X2 64. I have tried the RRAbuntu cds with no luck. Have tried installing the OS first then compile Rivendell, same difference. Everything compiles fine and the database gets created but when trying to start up rivendell I get the infamous "unable to access the rivendell......" error message. Have even tried it installing on ubuntu 11.04, ha! laptop takes more than 3 minutes to boot up!
Has anybody else tried installing on this laptop?
Downloading the CentOs appliance cd right now and see what happens.
