You can dual boot with this CD. During setup it checks your hard drive and if it finds Windows (or anything else) it will ask you what you want to do.
The options are: * Erase and use entire disk (don't use this one or you'll lose Windows) * Install side by side (this is the one you want) You can of course just use the CD live and not install anything but any changes you make will be lost when you reboot (and its pretty slow working from CD). Or if you're slightly uneasy about messing with your computer. Download Virtual Box (virtualbox.org). Setup an Ubuntu machine and use the rrabuntu CD on that. Being a virtual PC you get some weird sound cut outs on occasion but you have no chance of accidentally formatting windows. Its as good a place to learn as any.
