I quite agree, and generally don't update Rivendell machines if they ain't 
broke.

However, I'm often building new machines and dislike unpleasant surprises 
from Naughty Nincompoop or whatever the latest version may be. I went to 
Debian because it was essentially Ubuntu without the surprises.

The problem with old versions is that the package repositories eventually 
disappear.

In retrospect, I should have changed to CentOS, as Mr. Gleason eventually 
did. It seems to be the most onservative of all of them and is supported 
longer than Debian.
