FWIW, I'm wired straight to Cogent's tier 1 backbone here. It'd be a pretty amazing proxy to be able to selectively replace part of the content while leaving other parts intact (take a look at the screenshot to see what I mean). I would also expect to see other sites defaced were that the case -- no sign of such as yet.
