you also need to install libmad -devel which provides something that is
needed by RD
It is available as an rpm

So it looks like you've got the library you need. Good.
Now, in '/etc/rd.c'onf', add/uncomment the following two lines:
[Logs]
LogXloadDebugData=Yes
and then restart the Rivendell daemons.
This will cause the RDXport service to send a large volume of
messages to syslog every time it processes an xport. The
messages are sent with DEBUG priority, so (depending on your
distro) you may have to modify your default syslog setup to
see them.
