Thanks guys, that makes sense. I've advised the person I was speaking
to and updated the page to read:

"Rivendell currently stores audio cuts in the Broadcast Wave File
(BWF) format as .wav files. The audio within these files can be
encoded as PCM16 (traditional large .wav files, around 10MB/minute) or
MP2 (MPEG Layer 2) (around 2MB/minute). Unlike older versions of
Rivendell, no special hardware is needed for either PCM16 or MP2 audio
files. It's important to note that whilst Rivendell stores audio as
PCM16 or MP2, it can import from a multitude of sources including CDs,
MP3s, FLAC and WAV files. "

I may re-write that whole page when I get a minute!
