Hi John,

Would you mind explaining your method a little further. I am also interested
in finding a solution as I have not yet managed to fill to the top of the
hour for news without having to overfill the hour.

Thanks in advance
Lee

Opps, forgot a couple of things.
It will not be exact, because of the +/- margin and t doesn't take into
account segues in the songs or sweepers so if you want it to always be
long I would

add a variable of minusMargin and make it 0.

Then change the 2 select lines that get the songs.

Change this: GROUP_NAME in ({2}) order by Rand() limit
1".format((secLeft-margin), (secLeft+margin), musicGroups))

To This: GROUP_NAME in ({2}) order by Rand() limit
1".format((secLeft-minusMargin), (secLeft+margin), musicGroups))

Hope that helps and doesn't confuse anyone too much
John
