Other than Rivendell, I gather that there weren't a lot of applications built on Qt3. Otherwise, the Qt developers would have felt pressure to keep their subsequent versions compatible with it, or maybe Qt3 would have been forked by someone with an interest in keeping the applications built on it viable.
A Qt4 rewrite is a big challenge too. So no good solution for the moment
And if Rivendell were rewritten for Qt4, what happens when Qt4 goes the way of Qt3?
